There are no typical logistics specialists at SEBN. The job is too complex for that. When one group is unpacking raw materials in the factory, another is discussing delivery requirements and special orders with our customers, while yet another group is planning, together with our production team, which products should be produced at which sites. They all have one thing in common, however: They know at all times exactly where each wire harness is located – within the production process, on its way to our customers or already there on site. For, in the end, the logistics specialist is the first one to take delivery of the wire and contacts and the last one to hold the finished wire harness in his or her hands and to pack this for delivery to our customer.
Before all this can take place, however, many logistical questions need to be answered – and this immediately following contracting on the part of the customer: Which location is most suitable for production? What materials do we need and in what quantity? Which transport track is most appropriate, which container, which packaging? How can we ensure punctual delivery? And how can we guarantee our customer the greatest possible flexibility up to the very last minute of production? Only when all of these questions have been answered is the true service provision of the logistics specialist both visible and tangible – to the employees in the factory, to the customer, the suppliers, the forwarding agents and also to himself: a good feeling. Because there is someone who has everything under control. Someone who seeks solutions and does everything in his or her power to fulfil demands and expectations. Someone who detects risks and knows how to deal with these.
